Goat cheese, bacon and brussels sprout pizza-5

Pizza on Halloween? Yes, because your kiddos are going to need to eat before they go on their sugar rush. Maybe this pizza is also for everyone staying in while the kids are out trick or treating. This pizza definitely comes in handy on a spooky Friday night.

When we lived in Houston I could go to the nearest pizza store and get fresh dough for pizza night. Since we have moved to Lubbock I’ve been turned away plenty of times for just the dough. Yes, I am lazy sometimes and just want to build the pizza with the dough complete.

I solve all of these issues today on the blog with this goat cheese, bacon and brussels sprout pizza. Yes, I did in fact add bacon to my pizza.

Did you know that Fleischmann’s Yeast has packets just for no knead pizza dough? You don’t even have to wait 10 minutes for the yeast to activate.   I was sold! Now on to the creative aspect of this pizza…. the toppings. I was tired of the pepperoni or all veggie pizzas that we make all the time. It was time to step outside of the box and experiment with cheese and other items.

Deep dish dessert pizza

In a couple of days you are going to have an abundant stash of candy in your home. There is no denying that we won’t even get close to eating all the Halloween candy once it is over. The candy companies are rejoicing in the overselling of candy while all of us are left with...

Fettuccine with sausage and kale

Growing up we didn’t eat much pasta. I have a dad who doesn’t like pasta, chocolate ice cream and frou-frou meals. Noodles aren’t his thing, chocolate ice cream tastes like dirt and he would rather stick to meat, vegetables and potatoes instead of sushi. In return I never experienced much pasta besides the usual...

michigan apple orchards

Two weeks ago I jumped on a plane and headed north to Grand Rapids, Michigan. I along with a group of other bloggers were going apple picking and off to learn about production and shipping with the Michigan Apple Committee. My first stop was at Sietsema orchards and cider mill in Ada. The owner’s...

Cinnamon pumpkin ice cream

I’ve seriously tried to make up for my past years inexperience with pumpkin flavors. As I told you before I didn’t have one single recipe with pumpkin in it and I set out to change that for the fall season. Today I am teaming up with my FAVORITE coffee creamer International Delight to bring...

slow cooker applesauce

Do you ever look at something in the grocery store or restaurant and think to yourself, I can do that.  The food squeeze packets are taking over. Seriously in the next year or so there will be steak, pizza and burger packets that you can eat by a squeeze packet. I can’t hate on...

Slow cooker chicken enchilada soup

I didn’t grow up with a slow cooker. We always had hot meals coming out of the oven or it was up to my sisters and I to make something to eat. Pot roast was a Sunday favorite especially after church but it was still cooking or roasting away in the oven for hours...

cheesy chicken pesto pizza

Cheese. It should be in its own food category along with bacon. They just make everything better. Plain and simple. The question is how do you like your cheese? Cut into small chunks on top of a cracker? Thinly sliced to go with a nice glass of wine? Just by itself? Melted or broiled...
