Snowflake Brownies

Snowflake Brownies

This past week I showcased a line up of Edible Christmas gifts for this holiday season. I have one more to add to that list and it’s these easy Snowflake Brownies. When time is in a pinch and you know you want to take something to neighbors or to a party these will come in handy.

Yes, I resorted to a brownie box by Betty Crocker™, but come on those boxed brownies are just way to good to pass up sometimes. They come out perfect each time with a moist center and slightly crunchy corners.

Truly perfection.

Snowflake Brownies

For these Snowflake Brownies I wanted a little addition to them. I found some Hershey’s® Cookies N Crème drops at my local United Market Street location and lightly pressed them into the uncooked batter. The kids went nuts trying to make sure that each of their snowflakes had several of these Hershey’s® drops. To top it all off I sprinkled each snowflake with a little powdered sugar to make it look like an actual snowflake with the white resemblance. They look just as cute if you don’t care for the extra sugar on top.

Snowflake Brownies

These brownies are perfect for that afternoon snack or for an edible holiday gift basket. I know that we devoured most of our brownies but now I have something to make in the future for our friends and family members. I also highly recommend these Chocolate Mint Crinkles.

Snowflake Brownies

Yield: 8+ snowflakes
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 18 minutes
Total Time: 23 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 18.4 ounce box Betty Crocker™ supreme original brownie mix (includes Hershey’s® syrup)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup Hershey’s® Cookies N Creme Drops
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl combine the brownie mix, water, vegetable oil and egg.  Stir until you have a smooth consistency.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and then spray it gently with non-stick baking spray.  Pour the batter onto the parchment paper and spread it out until you have about 1/2 inch thickness with the batter.

Gently place the Hershey’s® drops on the top of the batter.  Place in the oven to bake for 18 minutes or until done.

Allow to cool for 20+ minutes.  Remove the parchment and brownies from the baking sheet and place the snowflake cookie cutter into the brownies.  Lift up and remove any excess brownie from the cutter.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar and repeat.
