Slow Cooker Ranch Mixed Nuts

Slow Cooker Ranch Mixed Nuts

Guilty confession today!

I’m a snacker, one that needs to eat or munch on something throughout the day. If I have gum around I will pop apiece in but usually it needs to be something hearty or a good piece of fruit will do. Lately I’ve craved more things after pregnancy than before and this past week it was nuts of any kind. I had gone to the store to stock up on ranch packets for these Cheesy Baked Ranch Meatballs and decided to make a Slow Cooker Ranch Mixed Nuts dish.

First attempt didn’t work out so well because I decided to take a nap in the midst of cooking and they came out a bit charred. Yes, that will happen to nuts even in the slow cooker when cooked an hour too long. I didn’t give up and decided to have one more go at them because I wanted them so badly. This time I made them when no nap was involved and I was even able to shoot the photos before the true cravings kicked in.

Slow Cooker Ranch Mixed Nuts

All you need for this recipe is some mixed cocktail nuts, butter and a packet of ranch dressing. The slow cooker just softens the nuts a bit and really gets the flavor incorporated throughout the dish. The best part is that these Slow Cooker Ranch Spiced Nuts will stay good in an air tight container for at least several weeks. That means I can satisfy this craving for a while. Happy snacking.
