PB&J Sliders (Peanut Butter, Bacon and Jalapeno)

A unique twist on your classic PB&J sandwich! Don’t let the title fool you.

PB&J Sliders

Fall is right around the corner and it just so happens to be MY favorite season of all. The leaves start to change colors, school is back in session while cooler weather and football season are officially here. Living in my college town has its advantages and I love the excitement that everyone gets on Friday and Saturdays to cheer on their team.

PB&J Sliders

Months ago we went to a local burger restaurant here in town and I noticed they carried a PB&J Burger. At first, my initial reaction was gross and I would never try that since I’m not much of a jelly fan. After inspecting this burger more closely I noticed it wasn’t what I thought. P (Peanut Butter) B (Bacon) and J (Jalapeno). My husband wasn’t sure about the peanut butter on the slider but we put peanut butter all the time on our “true” Pb&j sandwiches. I’m here to tell you that you don’t need mustard, ketchup or mayonnaise because peanut butter is just as good with these sliders.

Genuine Texas Beef

I started my meat choice with Genuine Texas Beef which is raised in Texas for a minimum of 100 days. You can find this beef at your local United Supermarket Store. Next I added in the spices, cheese and a little extra heat with the jalapenos. The spread is not your typical spread. You have to add the chunky peanut butter to complete these sliders which would be perfect for your next game day party. I hope your friends will be impressed with this salty and spicy sandwich as much as my family enjoyed them.

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 jalapeno, deveined and chopped

  • 12 slider buns
  • 1/3 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 head of lettuce

Instructions

In a bowl mix the beef, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, jalapeno and cheese.  Create patties with about 1/3 cup of meat.  Make a thumbprint indention in the top and place in a skillet over medium heat.  Cook 5-6 minutes per side.

Spread a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter on the top portion of the slider.  Layer the slider with bun, lettuce, meat, bacon, tomato, jalapeno and top bun.

Tip- You can omit the extra jalapenos on the slider if serving to kids.  My kids didn’t notice the jalapeno in the patty.
