Lately, I’ve been having some major chocolate cravings. Unfortunately, every time I seem to crave it, I don’t have any on hand.

What’s a girl to do? Stock up on it!

You betcha I came home with a cart full of different chocolates, including Oreos, ice cream, pudding, m&ms, and chocolate chip morsels. When I was browsing the aisles at the store, I noticed the instant pudding packages. I can honestly say that I don’t know if I have ever made instant pudding or mousse.

Such a simple and easy concept, but I just never thought of making it. That is why I bought two packages of instant pudding and decided to put them to use, and that is how oreo mousse jars were created.

I decided to make the mousse the night before to cut down on the preparation time. BAD IDEA! My little girl wanted to see what momma was up to, and once I gave her a little taste, she was sold. I proceeded to hand her the spatula that I used to whip up the mousse. Bad idea #2! She wouldn’t let go of it and decided to throw a temper tantrum after it was all licked off.

Did I mention this all happened after bath time?!?

Let’s just say that she loved this mousse just as much as we did! It will definitely be made again just maybe when she is asleep!

Oreo Mousse Jars

Yield: 3 8 oz. jar servings
Additional Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 3.56 ounce box Hershey’s Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 1 3.56 ounce box Hershey’s Instant White Chocolate Pudding
  • 1 3/4 cup light cool whip, divided
  • 2 cups 2% milk, divided
  • 10 oreos, crushed

Instructions

Place chocolate pudding mix into one bowl. Add 1 cup milk and 3/4 cup cool whip. Using a whisk lightly whip up the mix until soft and fluffy. Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Place white chocolate pudding mix into a bowl. Add 1 cup milk plus 1 cup cool whip. Whisk just like the step above. Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

In a ziploc bag add the oreos and crush using your fingers and hands. You will want some large chunks of oreo.

Place chocolate mousse in the jars first. You can either spoon in the mixture dividing it up evenly into three jars. The other method is to place it in an icing bag and pipe it into the jars and level it with spoon. Add 1/4 cup crushed oreos on top of the mousse. Add white chocolate mousse using the same method you chose for chocolate mousse. Then top with the rest of the oreos.

Cover in place in refrigerator if you don’t eat right away.

**If you want to place in a smaller bowl or cup go for it.
