Dear Miss Suzy, Â
I’m sorry that it had to end this way. You’ve been great for our family for the past two years and it all had to come to an end one afternoon. It was nice to see your effort a couple times a week in attempting to help us out. I thought this day wouldn’t come for a couple more years but I really need to let you go.
One day I hope you can forgive me for tossing you out just like this. You really were the BEST Roomba a girl could ask for and you saved my sanity weekly.
Love, Â
Meagan
Yesterday, I went to run some errands with Livi around town. Right before I left I turned on Miss Suzy (our name for our Robot vacuum). Two hours later I came home to an AWFUL stench in our house. I immediately thought WOW the dog really had to go but why is it so powerful. My dog did go and Miss Suzy proceeded to carry it all over our floor and rug.
There are just some things that you can clean and some things that are better off just being thrown away. Miss Suzy was great for our family but it was just her time. Now I have to figure out a way to clean without spending another $450 bucks. Yes, that’s how much I spent and she was literally worth every penny because she saved my sanity.
Now after a day like yesterday a slice of this Nutella Apple Cinnamon Swirl Bread is just what I needed. Warmed to perfection and just gooey enough for me to forget about all my troubles for at least 10 minutes. You may have to add an additional 10 minutes if you decide to go after a second slice.
Add yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar and water to a mixer. Mix a little and then let it sit for 10 minutes. Slowly whisk in the milk, egg yolk, salt and the rest of the sugar. Then start to incorporate the flour into the bowl adding 1/2 cup in 30 second intervals.
Knead with the dough hook or with your hands for at least 5 minutes. Add to a lightly greased bowl covered with plastic wrap.
Let the dough rise for at least 2 hours.
For the Filling
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a bowl combine the apple, cinnamon and sugar and set aside.
Flour your work surface and roll out the dough into a rectangular shape. Spread the nutella over the dough leaving 1/2 inch border around all the sides. Then top it off with the apple mixture. Roll the dough very tightly and then create a “U” shape with the dough. Start to weave the dough over each side and then when you reach the bottom pinch the end pieces together. Place in a butter greased iron skillet.
Bake the swirl bread for 30 minutes or until lightly golden brown on the top. Let it cool for 15 minutes before topping with powdered sugar.

Haha hilarious letter~! And this nutella/apple flavor combo sounds out of this world- pinning 🙂
Oh no, that’s got to be a wretched scenario to come home to, but unfortunately I think most dog owners (myself included) can relate to that sort of thing. I hope you were able to get the rug cleaned up! This bread looks absolutely marvelous. I’m not sure if I’ve ever tried apple+cinnamon AND chocolate together before, but when the end result is that gorgeous, who could say no?!
RIP Ms. Suzy-roo. I would have definitely drowned my woes (happily) in Nutella laden carbs. This looks incredible!
WOW this bread sounds amazing! Nutella and apples, I can imagine how gorgeously warm and gooey it must be inside all that fresh bread – YUM! And sorry to hear about your Ms Suzy situation – I couldn’t help but smile but it must have been absolutely awful to come home to. At least you had this bread!
Oh my goodness! Megan, this bread looks superb! I can imagine how tasty it is!
PS Sorry to hear such bad news.
Take care
Oh my gosh, what a disaster with Miss Suzy! Haha and an awful thing to come home to as well! This swirl bread looks delicious enough to forget about ALL your troubles! Absolutely delicious! Must give it a try! 🙂
Hahahahaha…Meagan! I laughed so hard, I had to read this twice! As nasty as that must have been…I”m thinking this bread made it all better!
