Cinnamon Chocolate Croissants

Wake up to 15-minute CINNAMON CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS. They are made with refrigerated croissants, cinnamon, sugar, butter and of course chocolate.

If you were to ask my kids, they would say that donuts are for the weekends. They love a good sprinkle donut or one topped with Oreo crumbles. Since they are out on Christmas break, I’ve tried showcasing a few different recipe ideas for them. Yes, something that could potentially replace their BELOVED donut run to the store.

Cinnamon Chocolate Croissants for the win.

Think cinnamon rolls except you don’t have to make or wait on the homemade dough. Now we love a good cinnamon roll recipe especially these Nutella Walnut Rolls, but these Cinnamon Chocolate Croissants are the quick and easy version.

Cinnamon Chocolate Croissants

All you need for this recipe is refrigerated croissants (bonus points if you can make your own), ground cinnamon, butter, sugar and chocolate chip morsels. If you don’t have chocolate morsels on hand you can grate chocolate from a chocolate bar.

After they come out of the oven you can roll them around more of the cinnamon sugar mixture if you want a bit more sweetness to go with your breakfast.

It was great incorporating the kids with the Cinnamon Chocolate Croissants. I feel like when they help with the baking or cooking process, they are more inclined to eat what is in front of them. Next time we will whip up a vanilla icing that can be drizzled on top. That will certainly take these to the next level.

What do your kids like to eat on Saturday and Sunday mornings? Are they experts in the donut shop, smoothie lovers, cereal crunchers, or the scrambled eggs and bacon type?

Don’t forget to try out my other breakfast treat which is a Low Carb Sausage Breakfast Casserole.
