Caramelized onion gouda burger

Caramelized onion gouda burger
Some families are off celebrating pizza or taco night, but I’m all about celebrating burger night. There are so many different varieties to a good burger and I frankly like to try them all out. You’ve got beef, chicken, turkey, buffalo, vegan and then you have the different types of buns. Next it’s time to look at the toppings, sauces and cheeses. Now look at me, I’m getting all worked up about burger night that I have almost forgot to mention the caramelized onion gouda burger I just made.

Caramelized onion gouda burger

This burger is seriously off the chain. There is no denying my love or I should say family’s love for burgers and this new recipe does not disappoint.

Enough with all my chatter and let’s move on to the actual building of this burger.

Caramelized onion gouda burger

I used just regular store bought buns and pre-made lean beef patties. The true stars in this recipe are the caramelized onions with Barefoot Merlot and gouda cheese chunks. I absolutely love onions on my burger but adding caramelized ones just make it taste much better.

I used Barefoot Merlot to help in the caramelization of the onions. It has a nice fruit and chocolate taste to it. It’s best paired with poultry, beef or desserts. Now you know why it came in handy with this burger recipe.

Gouda cheese is not something that I typically have on hand but it definitely dresses up your typical burger. I usually have whole-wheat buns on hand but this route was different. I’m not complaining.

Best part is you have wine left over to pair it with this meal.
