Basil Spinach Turkey Burger

Basil Spinach Turkey Burger

What is your ultimate comfort food? Is it pizza, burgers, Mexican food or desserts?

I would have to say yes to all of the above. Some days I crave sweets and others I want salty foods.

Lately I have been craving anything with ground turkey meat. In fact we made these burgers twice in one week and I’m about to make them again for my parents. These burgers are so moist and juicy and is seriously one of the best turkey burgers that I have ever eaten. Now I just need to add some mushrooms and onions to it and I am a golden.

You can enjoy this basil spinach turkey burger with chips or some homemade baked fries.  Not to mention pairing it with a brewski (aka – beer).

Now what are you waiting for….. go get the ingredients and make yourself happy with this ultimate turkey burger.

Basil Spinach Turkey Burger with French Fried Onions

Yield: 4 burgers
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Jennie-O ground turkey 85/15
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup spinach, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup feta crumbles
  • 1/2 cup french fried onions
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns

Instructions

In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients except for the buns. Stir the mixture with your hands until it is well combined.

Separate the mixture into four equal size balls. Flatten with your hands and using your thumb put an imprint in the center. (This will keep the patty from shrinking while cooking.)

Place the pattys in a heated skillet on medium heat. Cook until done about 12-15 minutes.
