Baked pear and apple fries

Baked pear and apple fries for your next snack. They are a great replacement for when you are craving french fries.

Fall hits, and people are talking about apples all over the place. I’ll even admit that I was on the apple bandwagon as well. I mean, I eat one almost daily; I might as well put them in a recipe. The forgotten fruit here is the pear.

It sits very close to the apple at the store, and 9 out of 10 people will walk right past them for other fruit selections.

Not this girl. This winter, I’m all about my pear dishes.

After my pear and apple galette, I decided that these two were a winning combo and that I needed to pair them together more often. That brings me to today’s winning baked pear and apple fries dish. I’m a girl that craves her fries. More cases than not I’m craving the greasy, salty fries that come from fast-food chains.

Not the case with this dish. Now depending on what you want to do with them is up to you. In my case, I had one batch just as they were and the second batch was topped with vanilla ice cream and a little caramel drizzle. Now before they went into the oven, I tossed them in some Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil and vanilla along with some spices.

Next time you are craving fries, break out the fruit instead.
