arbor day

Every morning starts off with one simple ritual. COFFEE. I love a good breakfast, but I can’t continue my day without my 1-3 cups of coffee.

In 2007, I moved to London and instead of becoming an avid afternoon tea sipper… I fell in love with BLACK coffee. No creamer just the good ole’ cup of coffee and lots of it. When I moved back to Texas, I slowly started to incorporate creamer into my cup. Not only do I love the taste of coffee but the smell of it brewing and the aroma of freshly ground coffee has me going back day after day.

Ten years later, I finally have a husband who enjoys a hot cup of coffee with me. It’s now our ritual. When you have three kids anything that gives you that morning power boost is worth it. You can also say that we have become coffee snobs. We are very picky about the different brands and flavors that we try. Of course, each of us has a different flavor that is our favorite and don’t get me started on the creamer flavors.

I’ve teamed up with Arbor Day Coffee to host a giveaway and a special discount code just for my readers. Try out this delicious coffee and help out the environment by purchasing a single bag or join their club. Enter code ZESTYBITE on their website to get 10% off your next order. My personal favorite is their La Sombra Blend with hints of sugar and chocolate; delicate fruit acidity and a sweet finish.

Arbor Day Foundation Coffee

Their Mission: We inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.

Founded in 1972, the centennial of the first Arbor Day observance in the 19th century, the Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with over one million members, supporters, and valued partners.

Arbor Day® Coffee is sustainably grown under the canopy of the rainforest. In addition to this shade-grown approach being better for the environment and for the coffee farm families who call the rainforest home, our coffee beans take longer to mature than those grown exposed to the heavy sun. The result is a richer, more delicious cup of coffee. This is the shade-grown difference.

Through their coffee program, they can work with farmers to help them earn a higher wage for higher-quality coffee grown. They also help them implement more responsible, rainforest-friendly coffee production practices.
