Growing up in a small town in Texas, fish wasn’t a common meal unless it was fried catfish.  It wasn’t until college where I had my first piece of sushi or raw piece of fish.  It’s not something I sit at home and just crave.  Almost six months ago I had my first ahi tuna salad and I can say that I was in love at first bite.  Now I can’t seem to get enough of this salad.  Well, I went to the store today thinking I am going to try and make my own ahi tuna salad.  If you like tuna and salads then you won’t be disappointed and you have my word.  ENJOY!

Ingredients:
1 ahi tuna steak (approx. less than a 1lb.)
1 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
Sea salt and pepper
1/4 cup mango salsa
2 cups lettuce mix
2 Tbsp. asian sesame dressing

Preparation:
Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in sauce pan over medium/high heat
Rub tuna steak with 1/2 Tbsp olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper very generously on each side
Cook for 2-3 minutes and then flip for another 2-3 minutes
If you like your tuna more rare cook each side less than 2 minutes
When tuna is done remove and slice against the grain
Plate with lettuce and then top with tuna slices
Top with mango salsa and drizzle with the asian sesame dressing
