Two weeks ago I packed my bags to head to snowy Deer Valley, Utah. This was my third time visiting this beautiful resort and I was super pumped about seeing all my wonderful blogging friends Becky, Lauren, Annalise, Erin, Megan and Liz. This was the trip that all of us girls needed. We drank wine, ate lots of cheese, talked about families, upcoming trips and where our next girl’s trip would be located.

This past year my husband and I took our first vacation away from the little one to Deer Valley and you can read all about it here. This trip recap I wanted to highlight my 5 reasons to visit Deer Valley Resort.

 

Let’s kick it off with #1. Deer Valley Resort

This resort seriously has it all. During the winter you have skiing, snow mobiling, hot tubs, tubing and sleigh rides. The summer months boasts lots of hiking, bike riding, summer concerts and much more. Everyone that works with the resort on the mountain wears green jackets so you can easily locate someone for questions or help. They offer everyone 5 star hospitality and that alone keeps me wanting to come back.

#2 Free Transportation

When you arrive for vacation the last thing you want to do is worry about how you are going to get around from the hotel, ski base, restaurants, town center and other activities. Buses are constantly running to take you to locations as well as Cadillac Escalades. Cadillac is the official sponsor of transportation for Deer Valley and I certainly don’t mind being chauffeured around with heated seats and polite drivers.

#3 Foodie Paradise

I would “almost” admit that I come here just for the great food, from the restaurants sitting on the mountain, restaurants at the lodges and of course main street. I did my fair share of eating this trip and my highlights include the following:

• Blueberry Mojitos – Royal Street Café
• Melted Raclette – Fireside Dining
• Skillet Cookies – Brass Tag
• Turkey Chili – Grocery Café
• Spiked Milkshakes – Montage
• Whole Foods – Park City (just down the road)
• Champagne Toast – St. Regis
• Free cookies – The Lodges

While on this Girl’s trip we were treated out to many great restaurants and Whole Foods Park City provided snacks, breakfast and lunch for our time at The Lodges.

Whole Foods Park City doesn’t just offer catering but they can have their chef come to your location to cook you food. We definitely liked this idea and had him come do a grilled cheese bar served with kale salad and tomato bisque.

#4 Skiing

This definitely ranks in the top 5 as they offer some of the best skiing in the World. They allow only so many tickets to be sold each day so that the resort doesn’t get over crowded. The skiing spans over 6 mountains and has 21 ski lifts. If you are a beginner or you want to teach your kids to ski, I highly recommend this resort. The ski instructors are top notch and they also offer private lessons to ensure you get the most out of your experience.

#5 Lodging

While vacationing you can rent an actual home, condominium or stay at a hotel. The first time there I was fortunate to get a large enough home to host 12 girls. The last two visits I’ve stayed at The Lodges and they are just a short distance from the ski base. They are condominiums that you can rent out and they definitely provide everything you would need during your stay. A full kitchen equipped with cooking utensils and cookware. Fireplaces to help you stay warm and beautiful rooms with large bathrooms.

This concludes my list of my top 5 things to do in Deer Valley but of course I could really expand on this list. Main Street is a fun shopping center that also includes exceptional food options including High West Distillery. Park City is about a 10-minute ride from the resort and they also offer many activities for families. If you need a spa service I highly recommend you check out the Spa at Montage or the St. Regis.
