Well I will be traveling to Lubbock this year for Christmas. I decided to make some Christmas goodies to bring for the Wied family. This is my first time to ever make peppermint bark and it is so easy. You can also add anything to the top or just keep it simple with candy canes. ENJOY and Merry Christmas!
Peppermint Bark
Ingredients:
1 lb candy coating chocolate
1/4 lb of candy coating white chocolate
4 candy canes crushed
1/2 cup m&m crushed
Preparation:
Line a baking sheet with wax paper
Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave for about a minute and then stir
Put in microwave if needed for another 15 seconds
Pour the chocolate on top of the wax paper and spread it out evenly
Melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the top of the dark chocolate
Sprinkle the candy on top
With a knife barely touch the top and make little swirls
Freeze for at least 30 minutes and then break up into little pieces
Store in refrigerator
I made peppermint bark for the first time this year also. Because we have family members who are sensitive to dairy…I chose to just use dark chocolate (semi-sweet morsels). I melted a bag of morsels in a double boiler, then stirred in organic rice flake cereal (could also use rice crispies), and crushed peppermint candy. Then spread in a silicone baking pan, and topped with more crushed peppermint! YUM. I love these easy yet delicious recipes, don’t you? I bet your family loved it too!!
How pretty….bark is always so much fun to make and eat.
