Peach Ice Cream

Peach Ice Cream

Every summer we would load up in the car and drive a couple of hours for a family weekend getaway. It never failed that halfway through the trip I would need to make a pit stop at one of my most favorite towns, Fredericksburg. I would beg for fresh ice cream or a stop at the local bakery for cookies and then remember why I needed to stop in the first place. On the way out of town, my parents would pull over to one of the local farmers stands that line the highway selling fresh PEACHES.

Fresh just picked peaches.

Peaches

I’m a littler further now from Fredericksburg, but that doesn’t mean that my love for peaches has to stop. This past weekend I grabbed the kids and we took off to my local grocery store United Supermarkets for a little shopping. Olivia was begging to join me so she could get a small cart to push around the store to help out. I’m usually the mom saying, “please quit running into my legs.” However, I love that they enjoy going and getting special treats when I shop.

This time around we headed to the store to stock up on Sugar Tree peaches. I had one thing on my mind and that was homemade peach ice cream. No tub of ice cream can ever beat a big bowl of the homemade stuff. The kids, on the other hand, weren’t thinking ice cream and wanted peaches right away. I almost had to go back to the store just to get more because I wasn’t sure I had enough for their impatient appetites and my ice cream.

Peach Ice Cream

Everyone is much happier now that I’ve made this recipe and they were able to get their peach addiction along with a little homemade sweet treat called Peach Ice Cream.
