Over the past couple of years I have become a big fan of fried pickles.  I can’t seem to get enough of these tasty bites, luckily for me Shaun enjoys them too.  These pickles can go as an appetizer or side dish.  I hope you savor these just as much as we did.  ENJOY!!!

Fried Pickles
Printable Recipe
Yield: 3-4 servings

Ingredients:
1/2 cup corn meal
1 cup of white flour
1/2 cup Buttermilk
2 cups of dill pickles (hamburger sliced)
1 teaspoon of cayenne powder
1 teaspoon of salt and a dash of salt
2-4 cups of canola oil (depends on frying pan)

Preparation:
Mix corn meal, white flour, cayenne powder and salt in large bowl
Pour buttermilk in smaller bowl
Heat frying pan on medium heat with canola oil; fill pan to where its at least an 1/2 inch deep
Get a couple of pickles and dip in buttermilk; coat both sides
Place pickles in dry ingredient bowl and flip to make sure both sides have flour
Double dipping; place them back in the buttermilk and once again in flour
Now place them in the oil and flip after 5 seconds; wait another 5 seconds and place on paper towels
Sprinkle with a dash of salt
Serve with ranch
