Have you planted your garden already? We just bought our herbs, seeds and plants yesterday from Home Depot. A step-by-step tutorial will be up shortly about what we used and built just in case you are behind like us. Usually I already have fresh vegetables growing if I haven’t killed them already. When we were living in Houston the insects and heat basically killed them off before we could enjoy them. I’m destined that this garden in West Texas will survive and feed my family.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that in the next couple of weeks we will have an abundant supply of tomatoes, onions, green beans, squash, zucchini and array of fresh herbs at my disposal.
Pompeian is celebrating National Salad & Vinegar Month and I thought this fresh burrata fruit salad with simple dressing was the perfect way to end the month. I got my fill of unhealthy foods this past weekend so this salad came at a perfect time. Now I can’t wait to use fresh tomatoes in the next couple of weeks. Also, this got me thinking about going back to the store to get an avocado tree. The cheese for this dish is called burrata cheese and it is very similar to mozzarella. It is just a little bit creamier and its a new favorite among foodies.
When I make a homemade dressing at home I usually reach for the balsamic vinegar every single time. I wanted to branch out a bit with this dressing and add red wine vinegar instead. Did you know that Pompeian actually has 7 different wine vinegars?!
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Roasted Garlic Infused Red Wine Vinegar
- Pomegranate Infused Red Wine Vinegar
- Blueberry Pomegranate Infused Red Wine Vinegar
- Açai Pomegranate Infused Red Wine Vinegar
- White Wine Vinegar
- Sherry Aged Wine Vinegar
Now its back to the garden planting for me, so that I can have a fresh salad soon.
